Powering the Maruti Ciaz SHVS is a 1.3-litre Multi-jet diesel engine that is benefited with Suzuki’s SHVS technology. The carmaker claims that the Ciaz SHVS returns a class-leading mileage of 28.09kmpl. The sedan also comes equipped with several other smart hybrid features.
2. Maruti Suzuki Celerio Diesel
The Maruti Celerio diesel is the country’s second most fuel efficient car with a claimed mileage of about 27.62kmpl. The hatchback comes powered by an all-new 793cc, twin-cylinder DDiS diesel engine that pushes out a maximum power of 47bhp at 3,500rpm against 125Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. Transmission on offer is a 5-speed manual gearbox.
