Tata’s much awaited Tiago hatchback has been launched in India at quite an aggressive pricing. The hatchback is being offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. 

 The petrol version of the car is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder VCTi Revotron engine that develops 83.8bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. 

 The Tata Tiago Diesel derives its power from a 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder Revotorq engine that yields 69.04bhp and 140Nm of torque. With first-in-segment Multi-drive modes, this powertrain is claimed to be high on performance and fuel efficiency. Mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox, it is returns an impressive mileage of 27.29kmpl. This also makes it one of best mileage cars in India.

4. Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire (Diesel)

 Maruti Suzuki’s Swift Dzire is claimed to be India’s most fuel efficient car, with a whopping mileage of around 26.59kmpl. 

 Under the hood, the car houses the Fiat sourced 1.3-litre Multi-jet engine that is capable of generating 74bhp of power and 190Nm of peak torque. Maruti Suzuki uses the same engine to power its other vehicles as well including the Swift, Ciaz, Ertiga, etc. 

 Transmission duties are taken care of by a 5-speed manual gearbox.
